Justin Golden

Entrepreneur

“There are hundreds of people talking the talk. And I had a hard time finding somebody who had also walked the walk. Bliss Champions just fell in my lap via a Facebook ad. Like it was a gift. Like, you gotta be kidding me. You know, Eric and Patrick are teaming up for this. And it really fit the bill for what I was looking for. But also, there was an immediate trust factor because I knew them. Countless coaches offer advice. Advice, advice, advice, do this, be like this, respond like this, behave like this. And I don’t know that that’s really what entrepreneurs need to hear. Entrepreneurs usually have a very good idea of what they want to do. But they need other resources. And for me, that was what Bliss Champions provided. The trajectory after the retreat was completely different. I kept those horse blinders on and have them on today.”

The Situation

Justin Golden’s life was at a crossroads. After leaving a good job, he spent an entire year fumbling around trying to figure out what to do next professionally. His first attempt at being a small business owner had been unsuccessful. Still, Justin was ready for something life-changing. He was just afraid to take the necessary action to get there. Seeing his wife’s success working with a business coach, he decided he would find a coach of his own to help him take his next big step. However, Justin didn’t want to settle for just any coach he found online. As he put it, “There are hundreds of people talking the talk. And I had a hard time finding somebody who had also walked the walk.” That’s when Facebook post from a Bliss Champions popped up in his feed. Early in his career, Justin had crossed paths with the founders of Bliss Champions, Eric Lochtefeld and Patrick Combs, so he already knew what they were capable of helping him accomplish.

"It just fell in my lap. Like it was a gift. Like, you gotta be kidding me. You know, Eric and Patrick are teaming up for this. And it really fit the bill for what I was looking for. But also, there was an immediate trust factor because I knew them."

The Solution

For Justin, having that trust in a business coach was crucial.

After finding that essential missing ingredient at Bliss Champions, Justin could already feel a new momentum pushing him forward. Once he was accepted as a Blisspreneur, Justin committed to every step of the 7-step process, determined to bring something new to the table.

As the months went on, Justin felt his confidence building. He started to share innovative ideas during small Bliss group meetings, becoming less and less self-conscious about what people would think. With Eric and Paul asking him the right questions and guiding him, Justin started to realize he was in charge and could live the life of Bliss he sought. He didn’t need validation from anyone else.

Countless coaches offer advice. Advice, advice, advice, do this, be like this, respond like this, behave like this. And I don't know that that's really what entrepreneurs need to hear. Entrepreneurs usually have a very good idea of what they want to do. But they need other resources. And for me, that was what Bliss Champions provided.

Bliss Champions gave Justin the focal point—or as he says, the “horse-blinders”—he needed to block out emotions that didn’t serve his goals. So he was able to zero in on what he wanted to accomplish.

The Turning Point

Justin’s most significant breakthrough came during the “show and tell” session of a Bliss Champions’ retreat.

As Justin spoke, we were overwhelmed by the positivity he exuded. This wasn’t the same guy we first met who was unsure and afraid of what to do next.

The person on stage wasn’t just showing us what Bliss in motion looked like; he was ready to live it! As Justin puts it, “The trajectory after the retreat was completely different. I kept those horse blinders on and have them on today.”

A year later, Justin is running a national eCommerce site selling automotive parts. The business is a passion project which has opened up opportunities to work in the car industry, an interest that is very close to his heart. He knows success might still be a few years away, but he’s not intimidated. He knows the higher the risk you take, the greater the upside.

Bravery means experiencing fear and taking action anyway. Because you KNOW it is the right thing to do for yourself and your future.

Justin wants any entrepreneur out there to know it’s normal to feel like they’re stuck and need help. The answer is most likely already inside of them. And Bliss Champions can help them get it out of them, the same way they did for him.
